Daniel G. Barry

Dan counsels clients on protecting their intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. He has over sixteen years of experience in obtaining U.S. and foreign patents for clients in various fields, including consumer electronics, mechanical devices, software, building automation, and medical devices. Dan also helps clients obtain U.S. and foreign trademark registrations. Other services that Dan offers include intellectual property portfolio management, trademark clearance searches, trade secret consultation, prior art searches, non-infringement opinions, invalidity opinions, and freedom to operate opinions.

After specializing in intellectual property in law school, Dan worked for three years at the IP law boutique of Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto preparing and prosecuting patent applications for a multinational electronics company. Dan then joined the Orange County office of the general business practice firm of Snell & Wilmer, where Dan further developed his intellectual property skills representing a variety of clients in different areas of IP law.  After five years at Snell & Wilmer, Dan founded Barry IP Law to provide high quality legal service customized to the needs of his clients at competitive prices.  

Before law school, Dan worked as an engineer for four years designing building automation systems.
